Our Doctors

Dr Betty Zilka:

Dr Betty Zilka is the Principal Dentist at Petersham Dental Practice. After she graduated from Sydney University,  she opened her practice in Petersham a couple of years later. She also has a second degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology. 


Betty provides a full range of dental services from Preventive Care, Restorations, Root Canal Therapy, Cosmetic, Crowns, Bridges, Implants & dentures.

Dr Kathy Ngo - Bachelor of Dental Surgery Hons (SYD):

Since starting her career in 1995, Kathy has been dedicated to servicing the wider community of Sydney as a general dentist. She is a committed and passionate dentist with particular interests in the area of cosmetics and children’s dentistry.


Her warm and gentle approach to patient care is what sets her apart. She is very intuitive in helping patients be comfortable in the dental chair.


Kathy strives to assist her patients in achieving optimum dental health by providing the best possible treatment through accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.


Kathy is very passionate about dentistry. She was a clinical tutor at the University of Sydney and is a volunteer for the Red Cross Clinics, providing much needed dental treatment for asylum seekers. She is committed to keeping her knowledge and skills updated through ongoing education and professional development. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association and the Northern Suburbs Study Group.



Kathy is a mum to two wonderful children and enjoys spending time with her family. She is a keen cook and enjoys travelling and pottery.

Dr John Bouhabib:

Dr Bouhabib graduated from The University of Sydney in 1989 and has many years of experience as a dentist. He first came to Petersham Dental Practice as a locum and then was offered a permanent part-time position. He has been part of the practice for about four years now. Dr Bouhabib enjoys being part of a group practice as he believes patients benefit from shared knowledge and experience. He is also able to facilitate timely specialist referrals when required. He works part-time to allow him to spend time with his wife and two young children. This will enable him to join in activities at school such as Reading Groups and volunteer at the canteen.

Dr Bouhabib is available on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.

Dr Arvind Sekhon:

Dr. Arvind brings a comprehensive approach to dentistry, with a core focus on preventative care. With extensive experience working in both India and Australia, she has developed a broad skill set and a deep understanding of patient needs.


With a passion for prevention, Dr. Arvind is committed to promoting oral health as the foundation for overall well-being. She also offers orthodontics, including Invisalign and braces, offering patients customized solutions to enhance both the function and appearance of their smiles.


Early in her career, Dr. Arvind organized free dental camps for orphanages in her hometown in India, providing essential care to underprivileged children. This experience fueled her passion for community service and preventative care, a value that continues to guide her practice today.


Known for her gentle and calming approach, Dr. Arvind helps even the most anxious patients feel at ease. By prioritizing patient education and empowerment, she enables individuals to make informed decisions about their oral health, whether they're seeking preventative treatments, orthodontics, or restorative care.


Dr. Arvind is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental technology to ensure her patients receive the highest standard of care. Outside of her practice, she enjoys hiking, exploring new places, and loves to indulge her taste buds by trying a variety of cuisines.
